Holiday Plans

This year we'll be lighting our menorah on December 21st. We'll eat latkes, open gifts, and maybe even do a little dancing at the synagogue Hannuka party. Soon after, we're off to visit Maureen's family in Gainesville, Florida. We arrive Dec. 23rd and will stay for a week. We plan on all the usual Christmas Eve traditions: decorating Christmas cookies, Christmas Eve mass, a drive around town admiring Christmas decorations while Santa leaves presents for all under the tree, and gift opening. We'll have our holiday family dinner on Christmas followed by more shopping and fun for the kids at the mall the day after Christmas.
For the rest of our visit Milena, Alexander, and Natalya will surely enjoy extra attention from grandparents and aunts and uncle in addition to playing with new toys and taking the family poodle on walks around Gainesville. Maureen and Rick might get some tango dance in, but mostly we'll be happy to have a week where we don't have to do the majority of the cooking and clean up. Hooray! (Sorry, mom) Time away from work will be most enjoyable also-- even if all we do is watch TV and read for pleasure.
